PintPerfect scores photos of your pint and puts you on leaderboards with your friends. This page explains what we collect to do that, who we share it with, and how to delete it.
What we collect
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Account details: email address, username, optional first and last name, profile photo, and your Apple or Google sign-in ID if you use one | To create your account, sign you in, and show your profile to other players |
| Pint photos and selfies | To score your pour and, if you post it, show it to your friends |
| Location, while you scan | To check you're in a bar or pub. We save the bar you posted from, not your exact position. |
| Location in the background, only if you turn on bar reminders | To remind you to test your split when you walk into a bar. The phone watches a few nearby bars itself; your position isn't sent to us. |
| Scores, posts, likes, comments, tags, friends and reports | To run the feed, leaderboards, challenges and safety tools |
| Push notification token | To send the notifications you've switched on |
| Purchase records from Apple (no card details) | To give you extra tries and Pro |
| Device advertising ID, only if you allow tracking | Used by Google AdMob to show ads (see below) |
We don't sell your personal data, and we don't read your contacts.
Who can see what
Your username, name, profile photo, best scores and trophies can be seen by other players, for example on leaderboards. Your posted pints, selfies and comments are shown to your friends. If you turn on Share perfects with the world, your perfect 1000s are shown to everyone. Practice scans and pints you don't post are never shown to anyone.
How long we keep it
- Photos of pints you don't post are deleted after about an hour, and practice photos after about 10 minutes.
- Everything else is kept until you delete it or delete your account.
- When you delete your account (Me, then the gear, then Delete account), we permanently delete your profile, photos, posts, scores and friends. Apple may keep its own record of purchases.
Services we use
- Supabase stores your account and photos and runs our scoring.
- Apple handles Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases, push notifications and, when our own bar list has nothing near you, looks up bars near the location of a scan (Apple Maps). Apple's App Attest lets us check that a scan comes from the real PintPerfect app.
- Google handles Google sign-in and shows ads through AdMob. AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address and ad interactions to show and measure ads. If you don't allow tracking, ads aren't personalised. PintPerfect Pro removes ads. See how Google uses data in ads.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that whoever signs up, signs in or resets a password is a person, not a bot. It runs invisibly and reads information about your device and connection to do this. See Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
- Expo delivers push notifications and app updates.
- Our bar list comes from OpenStreetMap. We don't send them anything about you.
Age
PintPerfect is only for adults of legal drinking age (18 or older). We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you think a child has an account, email us and we'll delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can edit your profile, turn off notifications, location and tracking in the app or in iOS Settings, and delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live (for example in the UK, EU or California), you can also ask us for a copy of your data or to correct or delete it. Email us and we'll reply within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for big changes, tell you in the app.
